About the Carnival

The Calabar carnival, held annually in Cross River State in Nigeria, is a beautiful and vibrant celebration steeped in rich cultural heritage. It was initiated in 2004 by the then governor of Cross River state, His Excellency Donald and Onari Duke. Its aim was to showcase Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage as well as promote tourism. The carnival has evolved into Africa’s largest Street party, and draws thousands of tourists and spectators yearly from all around the world.

About the Royalty Show

This year the Bayside Band will be holding a carnival Royalty TV show, this is a TV show to pick the best King and Queen to represent the band in the 2023 season of Sweetness Calabar Carnival festival, the event will be used as a promotion platform to showcase the educational and economic opportunities the Calabar carnival has to offer. The show includes young men and women in the house to display their talent of fashion, arts, script writing, costume making music and a lot of other talent showcase. The show which promises to be educating and enlighten, which will create avenue for future stars and brand visibility of products.
